Created and promoted a wide range of original programs designed to connect with Des Moines residents across age groups and interests. From seasonal campaigns to wellness initiatives and pop-up events, each program blended creative branding, intentional design, and multi-channel outreach to increase awareness and drive participation. Programs included: Adult Recess, Annual Report Cover Photo Contest, Bike Back to School, Yoga From the Park (outdoor virtual class series), 31 Miles Your Way (DIY fitness challenge), Family Skate Date, Halloween Candy Drop, and more.
Results: Increased visibility for city programs across digital platforms; delivered consistent community engagement and strong participation; and demonstrated the ability to launch and scale meaningful public events from concept to execution.

Des Moines Parks and Recreation | 2020 Annual Report

In a year marked by shutdowns and uncertainty, I led the creation of the 2020 Des Moines Parks and Recreation Annual Report, developing the central theme “Improvise, Adapt, Overcome and Celebrate” to reflect how our team continued to serve the community through challenge and change. With minimal programming and limited visuals, the report became a story of resilience. I crafted the narrative, coordinated content across departments to present a unified voice, and designed a layout that balanced transparency, gratitude, and pride.
Results: Successfully delivered a full report despite reduced operations and content; developed a theme that captured the spirit of the year; and reinforced the department’s mission and impact during a time of crisis.
